TRAINING OUR CHILDREN Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) We can all agree teaching children about the love of Christ and the salvation we have through him is very important. We are in need of a couple of teachers to share the love of Jesus to the lower (K-2nd) and upper (3rd-5th) element-ary Sunday School classes. If you would like to learn more, there is a sign up sheet in the narthex next to an example of the lessons we use. The lessons are very straight forward and easy to navigate. If you have any questions contact cameron@holytrin.org or talk to the Education Team.
LIFE QUOTES “When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we ask God to ‘deliver us from evil.’ We ask Him to protect us against the callous evil of abortion, the taking of a human life. We are harnessed with the burden of belonging to a nation that practices this barbaric procedure and calls it a ‘right.’ May God have mercy on us.” Chaplain (Lt. Colonel) Steven Hokana, Assistant Director of Ministry to the Armed Forces (MAF) (LCMS) – If you wish to support Lutherans for Life, you can through their web site: www.lutheransforlife.org
TO THINK ABOUT....
“Calvary shows how far men will go in sin, and far God went for man's salvation.”
-- H. D. Trumbull
LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCH
God made a human body – even one crucifixion destroyed – His sanctuary (John 2:19). Is this why He bluntly forbids murder (Exodus 20:13), because every human body belongs to Him (Exodus 20:2)? Indeed, He has chosen what is weak, low, labeled “not a life” (1 Corinthians 1:27-28) to be His own forever. Neither sin nor flesh’s shortcomings nullify it. Jealous God, possess us heart, body, and life that we may build up. Amen (Lent III)
TO THINK ABOUT....
Jacob was a cheater. Peter had a temper. David had an affair. Noah got drunk. Jonah ran from God. Paul was a murderer. Gideon was insecure. Miriam was a gossip. Mary was a worrier. Thomas was a doubter. Sara was impatient. Elijah was moody. Moses stuttered. Zacheus was short. Abraham was old and Lazarus was dead. Despite all their excuses, God used each one to build His kingdom. How about you?
