LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCH.

God became an embryo to declare embryos precious. He experienced gestation to hallow the womb as His canvas. He received parents to especially bless procreation and childrearing. He suffered to sanctify all of our afflictions, including the untreatable ones. Jesus came to claim even the tiniest of our species and make His family out of the neediest human beings (Galatians 4:4-7). We get to call God “Father” and become brothers and sisters to any human being!  (Pentecost II)

LIFE QUOTES  “People with Alzheimer’s or dementia often tragically lose their short-term memory while the long-term memory continues. They may go back to the memories of the good old days. Those memories can bring peace and happiness. When the Holy Spirit, your perfect memory aid, reminds and re-teaches you everything about Jesus, He removes the bad memories of sin and punishment and fear. He replaces them with joy, confidence, hope, and forgiveness in Jesus. That results in a peace that goes beyond understanding and beyond this life.” Rev. Peter Sulzle, St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, Minnesota –If you wish to support this group, you may do so through their website: www.lutheransforlife.org

FAITH & FILM The Ed Team is putting together a family film night once each month for the summer. The first movie is TODAY at 5:00pm in the chapel and we will be watching Finding Nemo and talking about how our Father relentlessly comes after us when we are lost. There will be a free will offering taken to support Snack Packs for Kids – a program that provides food for children over the weekends. Please invite friends and family!

YOUTH SUMMER SWIM –  is planned for June 26th so long as we have good weather for the float. We will be at the Wrights for a grill out and swim session. Friends are encouraged.

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS – We are in need of a few awesome souls to help teach during the summer. We have one class and lessons are all provided and straight forward. Please consider and pray on this ministry opportunity and speak with Cameron if you are interested or have questions.

NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING We are three weeks away and counting until the National Youth Gathering in Minneapolis. It is an incredible experience for our young students to have. I ask as we draw closer and closer, that you keep these young people in your prayers. Pray that they are receptive to God’s work in their lives and in their faith during the days of NYG. Pray also for the adult chaperones that are going. That they remain patient, help our youth grow in Christ, and get some sleep.

LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCH.

The best fathers guide their children to find their voice instead of stifling it. Even the youngest among us—unborn ones, too!—have a sacred privilege and vocation to take part in testifying of the goodness of our Maker and Savior (Psalm 8:2). Their Gospel-motivated voices may speak without grown-up words, but they strengthen us as evidence of how precious we are to our Heavenly Father even though we are helpless.  (Holy Trinity/Father’s Day)

LIFE QUOTES  “The good things that fathers do for their children and give to their children are blessings from God, for fathers and mothers are God’s representatives to their children. As disciplinarians they are representatives of His holiness. As providers they are representatives of His goodness and generosity. As teachers of the Gospel they are representatives of His grace. And as representatives not only do they act toward their children on God’s behalf, they also demonstrate to them who their God is and what He is like, for it is His blessings that they bring to their children.” From the “Lutheran Spokesman” –If you wish to support this group, you may do so through their website: www.lutheransforlife.org

TO THINK ABOUT

EACH DAY CAN BE A GOOD DAY

Sometimes when things go wrong for us,

it’s easy to forget the happiness we’ve seen and the good fortune that we’ve met.

Those rough times can be good times to think of friends we’ve known, of favors that they’ve done for us,

of kindness that they’ve shown, to think of fun-filled times we’ve spent, nice places that we’ve been, of the

beauty that life offers us time and time again, and then a day when things go wrong can turn into a day for

us to think how very often things have gone our way.
