VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL starts this evening and runs through August 2nd. If you find you can lend a helping hand with dinner or some of the activities, contact cameron@holytrin.org. There are always last minute things that need attention. Dinner will be at 5 pm and activities from 6 – 8 pm.
COLLEGE STUDENTS If you will be going to college this fall (or you have a son or daughter attending), please let the church office know which college they are attending and their college address and phone number (if available). We are planning our annual college send-off for all college students on August 12 at both services.
PASTOR BESEL will be on vacation from Monday through August 10. They will be spending time in Colorado with their family. In case of a pastoral emergency, please contact Pastor Bernthal, your elder or the church office.

We will discuss the layout of confirmation this fall, requirements, parental roles, and day/time of the week. See Cameron with questions.
THE LUTHERAN HOUR Today on KURM (790 AM) at 12:30 P.M. & The Bott Radio Network at 8 A.M. on 89.3 F.M. “It's Not a Cruise Ship" Guest Speaker: Rev. Timothy Teuscher-- The church is not some cruise ship sailing aimlessly about in this life and merely entertaining those on board; but, rather, it is the ark, the only boat whereby, as we traverse this stormy sea of life, we are being brought safely to the other side, to eternity. (Mark 6:45-56)

LIFE THOUGHTS IN CHURCH –– God rearranged the atmosphere to proclaim His love for human lives (Genesis 9:16). He has made all the universe’s structures, including our bodies, to serve human survival and salvation. No pregnancy comes forth except at His bidding, and no sickness sets in without His permission (Mark 6:51). If angels and atoms delight respecting every Adam and protecting each Eve, won’t it make us glad declaring it? Maker of heavens and earth, assist us to commit everything into Your care. Amen. (Pentecost X)
GARDEN TABLE AVAILABLE If you have extra produce from your garden that you want to share with other people, you are invited to put them on the counter in the Giving Center in the Narthex. Feel free to help yourself to anything placed on the Garden Table. Reminder, first come, first served.
CONFIRMATION SMALL GROUP GUIDES Cameron is looking for Small Group Guides for confirmation this fall. It is their role to lead a small group of students in a discussion on each weeks topic. If you are interested, please speak to Cameron for more details.
FOSTER CARE There is a crisis in Arkansas with children who need foster care but not enough families willing to offer that care. There is a ministry called “The Call” which helps people interested in providing foster care in Northwest Arkansas. There are a couple of flyers at the Giving Center if you want more information.
LIFE QUOTES “Arguments from some about when life begins, which inexcusably focus on eliminating the rights of the baby in the womb, are a perfect opportunity to speak the truth in love. We need to do this because this is not an abstract issue. It is a matter of life and death.” Virginia Flo, Lutherans For Life Regional Director of Minnesota
If you wish to support this ministry, you may do so through their web site: www.lutheransforlife.org
THANK YOU The family of George and Joan Magie sent a thank you letter along with a $500 contribution to the Holy Trinity Care Fund in memory of their parents. The note is posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Please keep this family in your prayers as they have Joan’s funeral this Thursday at 10 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albia, Iowa. Joan’s remains will then be buried next to George’s grave in Albia.
