WHERE’S PASTOR BESEL?  Pastor Besel is taking a Sunday of vacation today to attend the 45th Reunion of his graduation from St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas.  As part of the program, he is leading the worship this morning at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield.  He will be returning home this afternoon.

 

PICTURE DIRECTORY.  The photographer will be here this Thursday – Saturday, June 7, 8, 9.  Thursday and Friday we will have sessions from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.  On Saturday, we will take pictures from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. This is the last Sunday to  schedule your session after either service.  The online website can be used during the week.  https://booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/ycts4g6y/

Our background will be blue.  Jeans and white shirts aren’t recommended, and avoid thin stripes.  If you are unable to meet at our scheduled time, please call 1-866-756-0281 to work out a better date.

 

MARY HARTWIG MEMORIAL SERVICE   The Memorial Service for Mary Hartwig will be held this Saturday at 10 AM here at Holy Trinity.  The graveside service for Mary was held yesterday at Graceland Cemetery in her hometown of Webster City, Iowa.  Please note, we will be having pictures for the directory being taken down in the Chapel area of the building at the same time as the service.

9:30-10:30 A.M Women’s Bible Study entitled The Patriarchs: Encountering the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Study is led by Libby Garner and meets in the Conference Room.

HELPING HANDS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED  Saturday, June 9th is the next volunteer event for Holy Trinity to support Helping Hands. This faith-based organization provides food for around 100 families each week and needs our help to run their store. If you can spare a few hours of time, you will be supporting a great cause and getting an extra discount on merchandise at the same time! Please sign up in the Narthex or see Dave Ferguson.

June 7th - BBQ at Pullmann House from 5-8pm. Come and hang out, play games, and eat some summer food!  900 W Olive St. in Rogers.  If your last name starts with one of the following, please bring something to share! A-K Please bring an Appetizer | L-Z Please bring a Dessert.  My plan is to do burgers, hot dogs, and brats for main course.  If that doesn't work for someone, please let me know and we can make other arrangements. 

 

June 14th - Trip to Modern Mission - Time is TBD and depends on Modern Mission’s schedule. Cost is $10 per student. 

 

Week of June 18th – Putting a float trip together sometime that week, probably that Wednesday, June 20th.  It will be during the day, leaving sometime early morning

 

June 24th – Nerf War at Church 12-2 pm.  Lunch will be provided.

 

June 28th – Trip to the Aquatic Center 11 am – 2 pm.  Cost is $5 per student.

Mary Kathryn Bealmer Hartwig was born on was born on October 30, 1935, in Webster City, Iowa to Alfred Wayne Bealmer and Mae Louise Hanken Bealmer.  Mary was reborn through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa on November 24 of the same year.  She confirmed her faith at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Woolstock, Iowa on April 10, 1949.  Mary was raised and educated in Woolstock, Iowa, graduating in 1953.  Mary and Gary R. Hartwig were united in marriage on September 18, 1966 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Woolstock and lived in the Story City and Stanhope, Iowa areas.  In 1985 the family moved to Bentonville where they owned the Avoca One Stop convenience store.  Mary was an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers where she helped in the office.  She also started and coordinated the Prayer Shawl and Prayer Square Ministry.  Mary Hartwig died on May 24, 2018 at her son’s home in Bentonville, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 25 days.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Amy Hartwig, and her ex-husband, Gary.  Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Debi Hartwig of Bentonville; her grandchildren, Lauren and Miles Hartwig; numerous extended family members and many dear friends.  A graveside service for Mary was held on Saturday, June 2, at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Rogers with a reception to follow.  Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Music Department, PO Box 219, Rogers, Arkansas 72757.
